Capturing rare earth companies driven by rising strategic demand and national security
Our Partner
Pure-play companies
The only ETF focused on companies that have a majority of revenue or assets from the mining, separation, refining or production of rare earths. These companies may be well-positioned to benefit from the increased investment in national security priorities.
Strategic importance
Rare earths are critical to global defence systems, energy and electrification, AI and datacentres, semiconductors, robotics, EVs, and advanced technologies.
Supply chain security
China’s dominance and export controls have made rare earths a national security priority. This is spurring ex-China investment and opportunities, critical materials alliances and funding for strategic stockpiling by developed nations around the world.
Growing demand
Rare earths are attracting increased investment as countries seek to secure the materials needed for defence, energy and advanced technologies.
Sprott Rare Earths Ex-China UCITS ETF (REXC) is the only UCITS ETF providing focused pure-play exposure to rare earths companies. ¹
Rare earths are a group of 17 metallic elements whose magnetic, optical, and chemical properties make them important inputs for advanced technologies. Their applications include powerful permanent magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defence systems, alongside components supporting data centres and communications infrastructure.
The Rare Earths ETF invests exclusively in companies outside of China that may have significant growth potential as supply chain security becomes a national priority. REXC seeks to provide investment results that, before fees and expenses, correspond generally to the total return performance of the Nasdaq Sprott Rare Earths Ex-China™ Capped Index (NSREXCU™). The Index is designed to track the performance of a selection of global securities in the rare earths industry, including mining, separation, refining or production of rare earths.

Key Risks
When you invest in ETFs your capital is fully at risk and may not get back the amount originally invested. Exchange rates can have a positive or negative effect on returns. The ETF shall invest predominantly in rare earths and mining industries which are susceptible to fluctuations in prices and extraction and production costs. In addition, rare earths and mining companies may have significant operations in areas at risk for social and political unrest, security concerns and environmental damage. These companies may also be at risk for increased government regulation and intervention. Any negative changes in commodity markets that may be due to changes in supply and demand for commodities, market events, regulatory developments, other catastrophic events, or other factors that the Sub-Fund cannot control could have an adverse impact on those companies.
