July 2026, London

HANetf, Europe’s first and leading white-label UCITS ETF and ETC platform,[1] is delighted to announce that Defiance ETFs has reached $207.10 million in assets under management (AUM) across its European UCITS ETF range, less than four months after entering the market.[2]

Defiance entered the European UCITS market in March 2026 and has since built a range of five thematic ETFs, each aiming to provide access to a structural growth theme: drones and modern warfare, Ukraine reconstruction, AI and power infrastructure, memory semiconductors, and photonics.

Investor demand across these themes has driven combined assets above $200 million, with the Defiance Memory UCITS ETF (ticker: DRAM) representing the largest share, gathering $99.8 million within a month of launch.[3]

These strategies mirror exposures that have attracted significant assets in the U.S. market, where thematic and sector ETFs have become a core tool for investors seeking targeted access to emerging technologies, defence, and the AI buildout. Defiance’s UCITS range gives European investors a rules-based way to access the same themes within a familiar regulatory wrapper.

Defiance intends to continue expanding its European UCITS range over the course of 2026.

  • Exchange rates can have a positive or negative effect on returns.

Sylvia Jablonski, CIO of Defiance ETFs, commented:

“Surpassing $200 million in Europe in our first few months reflects strong investor appetite for focused, high-conviction thematic exposure. European investors want the same access to drones, AI infrastructure, memory, and reconstruction themes that has driven demand in the U.S., and our UCITS range gives them a direct, rules-based way to participate.”

Hector McNeil, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of HANetf, commented:

“It is great to see these ETFs gaining traction with investors so soon after Defiance ETFs entered the European UCITS market. Our goal is always to break down the barriers to entry in the UCITS ETF space, and allow asset managers from around the world to launch their exchange-traded strategies in a timely, and cost-effective, manner. We look forward to continuing to work with Defiance to bring new and exciting strategies to European investors.”
