HANetf already has two products listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange: The Royal Mint Responsibly Sourced Physical Gold ETC (GPW: ETCGLDRMAU) and the Future of Defence UCITS ETF (GPW: ETFNATO).

The addition of 8 further listings expands HANetf’s listed range in Poland from two to ten products, reinforcing its position as one of the most prominent ETF/ETP providers on the exchange, accounting for almost a third of all ETPs listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange Main Market.

Poland is one of Europe’s fastest-growing major economies. IMF figures now put Poland’s GDP per capita ahead of Spain’s, underlining the country’s continued convergence with Western Europe.[2] As Poland becomes wealthier, we expect demand for investment solutions, including ETFs and ETPs, to continue to grow.

The products selected for listing have been chosen to reflect themes we believe will resonate strongly with Polish investors. Gold and broader commodity exposures offer ways to access themes linked to geopolitical instability, inflation risk and resource security.

Meanwhile, European defence and strategic autonomy strategies are particularly relevant in Poland, a country at the forefront of Europe’s rearmament drive and one of the potential beneficiaries of the continent’s renewed focus on security, industrial resilience and defence investment.

Hector McNeil, co-CEO and co-Founder of HANetf comments:

“HANetf has always sought to bring investors access to the themes shaping the world around them, and Poland is an increasingly important market for that mission. Poland has been one of Europe’s great economic success stories, with rising wealth, deepening capital markets and growing demand for modern investment solutions. It is therefore exciting to see the Polish ETF and ETP market continue to develop.

“These listings represent a major expansion of both the market and HANetf’s presence on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. By bringing 8 additional products to Polish investors, we are helping broaden access to strategies linked to some of the most important themes of the current era, including gold, commodities, European defence, energy security, strategic autonomy and Ukraine’s reconstruction. Ukraine reconstruction will be very pertinent to Polish investors due to the proximity of Poland to Ukraine.

“Poland sits at the centre of many of these themes. It is one of Europe’s fastest-growing major economies, a leading voice in European security, and a country at the forefront of the continent’s rearmament drive. As Polish investors look for tools to express these long-term trends, we believe ETFs and ETPs will play an increasingly important role. We also expect to bring more of our product range to the Polish market very soon.”

Michał Kobza, Member of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, commented:

“The simultaneous debut of 8 new ETFs from HANetf on GPW is a very important milestone for the development of the ETF segment in Poland. Such a significant expansion of the product offering increases portfolio diversification opportunities and gives investors access to global trends and themes they are actively seeking, in a simple and transparent format. With each new debut, the attractiveness of the Warsaw market and its competitiveness compared to developed European markets continue to grow.”

Key Risks

  • Thematic ETFs are exposed to a limited number of sectors and thus the investment will be concentrated and may experience high volatility.
  • Investors’ capital is fully at risk and may not get back the amount originally invested. Exchange rates can have a positive or negative effect on returns.
  • Tactical allocation may overweight specific sectors (e.g., real estate, infrastructure, financials), increasing sensitivity to sector‑specific downturns.
  • The fund may invest a significant portion of its assets in the securities of a single country or region and the Fund’s performance is likely to be impacted by events or conditions affecting that country or region.
  • The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia is a source of instability for Ukraine and the Ukrainian economy. This instability may detrimentally affect the ETF’s investments which have exposure to Ukraine or the Ukrainian economy. If the Conflict continues for a prolonged period of time, this may significantly impede any efforts to rebuild Ukraine’s infrastructure and wider economy.
  • The value of gold can be affected by daily stock and currency market movements
