When you invest in ETFs your capital is at risk.
HANetf, Europe’s first and leading white-label UCITS ETF and ETC platform,[3] is delighted to announce that its active ETF range has reached $1.38 billion AUM.[4]
HANetf has expanded its active range in recent years, with 29 now on the platform. Recently, HANetf partnered with ODDO BHF to launch three active strategies including ODDO BHF US Equity Active UCITS ETF (ticker: OBUS), which recently reached $101.58 million AUM in only 8 months.[5] The Active US Equity ETF seeks long-term capital growth by investing in a diversified portfolio of large-cap US equities, employing a proprietary model and systematic rules-based system, the management team ensure disciplined stock selection and risk oversight.
The approach is complemented by robust risk management and ESG integration, aligning with Article 8 SFDR standards.
The strategy benefits from two decades of successful implementation, strong performance records and remains under the guidance of its original founders, offering investors a time-tested and actively managed solution within a cost-efficient ETF wrapper.
This milestone comes at a time of increased growth across HANetf’s active ETF range, which includes the Middlefield Canadian Enhanced Income UCITS ETF (ticker: MCTP) which has a current AUM of $119.65 million CAD and is Europe’s first actively managed Canadian equity income ETF, focussing on large-cap, high-quality companies in Energy Production, Pipelines, Financials, and Real Estate sectors. The YieldMax® Big Tech Option Income UCITS ETF (ticker: YMAG) which has $67.81 million AUM, and is an actively managed ETF that seeks current income and capital appreciation via direct investments in a select portfolio of technology and related companies.[6]
The range is also growing more diverse. For instance, HANetf launched KRC Cat Bond UCITS ETF (ticker: CATB), Europe’s first UCITS ETF providing access to the catastrophe bond market, an asset class offering low correlation to traditional markets. In addition, HANetf has launched Regan Total Return Income UCITS ETF (ticker: RMBS), Fundstrat Granny Shots US Large Cap UCITS ETF (ticker: GRNY), and Infrastructure Capital Preferred Income UCITS ETF (ticker: PFFI).
Active ETFs are the fastest growing segment, hitting another record, now exceeding $132.06 billion AUM across Europe, growing by more than 26% in the last quarter. Beyond asset growth, there have been 93 active ETF launches, bringing the total to 384 in Europe.[7] The growth of active ETFs is due to a combination of alpha generation goals with intraday trading, lower costs, and tax advantages not available within the mutual fund and investment trust structures.
“It is very encouraging to witness the growth of our active ETF assets in recent years. At the beginning of 2024, our active range stood at around $100 million; today, it has grown to more than $1.3 billion. This has been driven in part by the onboarding of our Lloyd Capital active equity range which now has combined and growing assets of over $755 million.[8]
“This expansion has also been fuelled by selectively forging new partnerships with leading asset managers including Middlefield, Jupiter and ODDO BHF. Each offers a longstanding and robust track record in managing segregated strategies and HANetf are pleased to be at the forefront of making such active strategies accessible to European investors via the underappreciated ETF wrapper.
“Our growth reflects the ever-expanding European market, in which active ETF assets successively increased across 2024 and 2025 by 68% and a further 87% respectively.[9]
“European investors are evidently embracing active ETFs, following in the footsteps of their US counterparts, and we strongly believe the market retains significant growth potential.”
“It is extremely encouraging to see the growth of our active ETF assets in recent years. At the beginning of 2024, our active range stood at around $100 million; today, it has grown to more than $1.3 billion.
« This expansion has been supported by new partnerships with leading asset managers, including Middlefield, Jupiter, and ODDO BHF, as we continue to bring innovative active ETF strategies to European investors. It also reflects the remarkable growth of the wider European market, where active ETF assets increased by 68% in 2024 and a further 86% in 2025.
« European investors are clearly embracing the active ETF structure, and we believe the market still has significant room to grow.”
