When you invest in ETFs your capital is at risk.
HANetf, Europe’s first and leading white-label UCITS ETF and ETC platform,[1] is delighted to announce that it has now accumulated $9.05 billion in assets under management (AUM).[2]
In the past 12 months, HANetf’s AUM has more than doubled – from $3.98 billion to $9.05 billion.[3] Year-to-date (YTD), HANetf has taken $2.15 billion in net new assets.[4]
Leading the growth has been the defence theme. Future of Defence UCITS ETF (ticker: NATO), which provides exposure to NATO and NATO+ ally defence and cyber defence spending, has accumulated $2.99 billion AUM, with $1.48 billion in flows year-to-date (YTD).[5] In April, HANetf also launched a European-focused defence ETF, Future of European Defence UCITS ETF (ticker: ARMY), which has now reached €149.39 million AUM.[6] More recently, HANetf launched the Future of Defence Indo-Pac ex-China UCITS ETF (ticker: QUAD) which focuses on the growth of defence spending in the Indo-Pacific, ex-China. HANetf now has Europe’s most comprehensive range of defence ETFs.[7]
Another source of growth has been HANetf’s range of gold ETCs with The Royal Mint. The Royal Mint Responsibly Sourced Physical Gold ETC (ticker: RMAU) has reached $1.52 billion AUM, with $180.02 million net flows YTD.[8]
RMAU was the first gold ETC launched by The Royal Mint, and provides physical exposure to London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) post-2019 responsibly sourced good delivery bars – and a growing number of post-2022 bars (94%+) – custodied by The Royal Mint at their highly secure vault.
The ETC has evolved over time, introducing recycled gold in 2022 – and has since surpassed its target of over half the bars in its custody being 100% recycled gold.
The Royal Mint and HANetf have since launched three currency-hedged versions of RMAU – offering pound sterling, euro, and Swiss franc hedging options – which have cumulatively reached $228.20 million AUM.[9]
2025 has also seen the growth of HANetf’s active ETF range. There are now 14 on our platform, spanning active equities, fixed income, and thematics – with more in the pipeline. European active ETFs saw an impressive 68% AUM increase last year, and have already seen a further increase of almost 54% YTD – reaching $79.28 billion AUM.[10]
Another area of growth has been covered call strategies. HANetf partnered with YieldMax® and REX Shares to launch two suites of covered call ETFs, offering investors the potential to generate attractive monthly income. We have seen a surge in investor interest in these products, which have accrued a cumulative $98.69 million in AUM since the first launch in February.[11]
Furthermore, assets are not the only growth area of HANetf in 2025 – the company has also made additional senior hires in the past month:
John Shields, Head of Business Development – Americas.
John is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in financial services, the bulk of which has been cantered in the ETF industry. He spent more than a decade on the State Street SPDR Product team where he launched over 60 ETFs and managed an extensive ETF product line. John has also advised smaller companies on their ETF market entry strategies.
HANetf has already partnered with numerous U.S. asset managers to launch ETF strategies in Europe, and the hire of John – who is based in Boston – will help bolster the company’s presence in the Americas.
Filippo Dessi, Investment Oversight & Business Development Manager
Filippo previously worked at Allianz for nearly 4 years as an Investment Analyst, where he was responsible for the oversight of delegated mandates across multi-asset, equity, and fixed income funds – with a focus on performance monitoring at risk control.
Farrukh Dadabaev, ETC & Multi-Assets Associate
Farrukh spent the last 7 years at Mizuho International, and has a wealth of experience in risk management and ETF product development. Prior to this, he worked at Barclays and EBRD.
Nilab Wahab, Paralegal
Nilab has 4 years of experience in legal and compliance, most recently at Polus Capital Management Limited. She is currently undertaking the SQE qualifications to then qualify long-term as a solicitor. Nilab studied International Law at Kingston University, and at HANetf will be working with the legal team on both the ETF and ETC sides of the business.
These new hires underscore HANetf’s continued growth and its commitment to providing the best possible services to both its clients and investors. HANetf now accounts for approximately 20% of all European ETP brands.[12]
Hector McNeil and Nik Bienkowski, Co-Founders and Co-CEOs of HANetf, commented: “We’re delighted to have surpassed the $9 billion AUM milestone. The past year has seen the company grow substantially – to more than double our assets in 12 months is a real achievement, and a testament to our brilliant partners and the HANetf team. We have been fortunate to partner with some truly exceptional people, and we would like to thank our investors, clients, service providers, and the entire HANetf team for their continued support and hard work.
“2025 has seen the launch of over 15 new products, and we’re not finished yet – we’re expecting to get close to doubling that by year-end. Our pipeline continues to grow, and we’re experiencing an ever-increasing volume of enquiries from asset managers around the world looking to launch their exchange-traded strategies in Europe. I’m looking forward to continuing our work to grow the products already on our platform, as well as welcome new funds and partners to HANetf.
“A key trend in recent months has been the growth in demand for new ETF strategies, particularly active and covered call. We’re committed to providing innovative new strategies for investors, and these spaces look very exciting – it will be interesting to see how they develop in the coming months, and years.
“Expanding our team is an important part of growth, and it is great to welcome our four new hires to the HANetf family. These additions will help us to ensure that we continually improve our offering to both clients and investors.
“As a white-label ETP issuer, HANetf’s mission is to help asset managers worldwide to bring innovative products to market. With our ICAV, commodity, digital asset, and multi-asset platforms, we can launch any exchange-traded product – backed by a full-service infrastructure that includes sales, marketing, legal, operations, and capital markets support.
“We have proven that we can lower the barriers to entry for asset managers across the globe. With an exciting pipeline of new products ahead, we invite any asset managers looking to enter the European ETF or ETC space to contact us. There’s no asset class or payout structure we cannot accommodate with our market-leading infrastructure.”
