July 2026, London

HANetf, Europe’s first and leading white-label UCITS ETF and ETC platform[1], announces the launch of the EUR-hedged share class of Performance Trust Total Return Bond UCITS ETF, managed by PT Asset Management.

The new share class has been launched to provide EUR-based investors with access to PT Asset Management’s actively managed U.S. bond strategy while seeking to reduce the impact of movements between the U.S. dollar and the euro.

The ETF provides exposure to the U.S. bond market through PT Asset Management’s Shape Management methodology. This is a maths-based investment process developed to address what PT Asset Management views as the limitations of traditional fixed income metrics, including reliance on interest-rate forecasts and yield measures based on incomplete assumptions.

Instead, Shape Management analyses the risk-return profile of a bond’s future cashflows. The approach is designed to help build portfolios that are not dependent on a single interest-rate outlook and that can seek opportunities across different fixed income sectors.

The launch of the EUR-hedged share class comes at a time when European investors face an uncertain macroeconomic environment. Expectations around U.S. interest rates continue to shift as investors weigh inflation, growth and monetary policy. For EUR-based investors, movements in the U.S. dollar can also have a significant impact on returns from U.S. bond exposure.

A EUR-hedged share class can help investors reduce this currency effect, allowing them to access the underlying U.S. bond strategy while seeking to limit the impact of USD/EUR exchange-rate movements.

With the new ETF, HANetf has now launched 29 active ETFs on its platform. The launch reflects the continued growth of active ETFs in Europe, with fixed income remaining one of the key areas where investors are increasingly looking for actively managed exposures in an ETF structure.

Risks

  • Past performance is not indicative of future performance.
  • Fixed income securities held by the fund are subject to interest rate risk, call risks, prepayment and extension risks, credit risk, and liquidity risk
  • Interest rates may go up resulting in a decrease in the value of the fixed-income securities held by the fund
  • High-yield fixed-income securities are subject to additional risk factors, such as increased possibility of default, illiquidity of the security, and changes in value based on public perception of the issuer. These securities are generally considered speculative because they present a greater risk of loss, including default, than higher quality debt securities.
  • CLOs carry additional risks, including the possibility that distributions from collateral securities may not be adequate to make interest or other payments, the quality of the collateral may decline in value or default, the Fund may invest in CLOs that are subordinate to other classes, values may be volatile, and disputes with the issuer may produce unexpected investment results
  • When you invest in ETFs your capital is fully at risk and may not get back the amount originally invested.
  • Exchange rates can have a positive or negative effect on returns.
  • An FX Hedge does not fully eliminate the impact which exchange rate movements have on the value of the relevant class of FX Hedged securities.
  • The value of equities and equity-related securities can be affected by daily stock and currency market movements.

Sean Dranfield, CEO of PT Asset Management, commented:

“The launch of the EUR hedged share class marks an important milestone in the evolution of our European offering. Since introducing the PT Total Return Bond UCITS ETF, we have seen increasing interest from European investors seeking access to our active fixed income strategy. By adding a EUR hedged share class, we are providing investors with greater flexibility in how they access the strategy addressing the currency considerations that are important to many European allocators. We believe this enhancement will further support the adoption of active ETFs across the region and broaden access to PTAM’s differentiated approach to fixed income investing.”

Hector McNeil, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of HANetf, commented:

“Active ETFs are seeing a surge in investor interest, and fixed income has been at the forefront of that growth. That is reflected in the continued expansion of HANetf’s active ETF range, including strategies that give European investors access to specialist fixed income managers. PT Asset Management’s Total Return Bond strategy is a strong example of this. It offers a distinctive, actively managed approach to the U.S. bond market through its Shape Management methodology, which is designed to look beyond traditional interest-rate forecasts and yield measures. For European fixed income investors, however, currency risk matters. The launch of a EUR-hedged share class means investors can access PT Asset Management’s U.S. bond strategy while seeking to reduce the impact of USD/EUR currency movements. This is exactly the kind of differentiated, institutionally relevant strategy we want to bring to the European ETF market.”
