When you invest in ETFs your capital is at risk.
October 2026, London
HANetf, Europe’s first and leading white-label UCITS ETF and ETC platform, is delighted to announce that the YieldMax® Semiconductor Option Income UCITS ETF (CHPY) will move from monthly to weekly distributions from 7 October 2026.
The change reflects feedback from investors who are seeking more frequent distributions from their portfolios. Rather than receiving a single monthly distribution, investors in CHPY will have the opportunity to receive distributions throughout the month, providing greater flexibility over how potential income is received and used.
CHPY seeks to combine income generation with exposure to the global semiconductor industry. The Fund holds semiconductor equities directly while using an options-based strategy which seeks to generate additional income from the portfolio.
Semiconductors sit at the heart of several of the most important structural investment themes, including artificial intelligence, data centres, cloud computing, advanced electronics and automation. CHPY provides diversified exposure across the sector rather than relying on the performance of a single semiconductor company.
The move to weekly distributions does not change the Fund’s underlying investment strategy. Nor does a higher distribution frequency necessarily mean that the Fund will generate more income. Instead, the change alters how frequently distributions may be paid, with the level of each distribution continuing to depend on factors including market conditions and the potential income generated by the options strategy.
Hector McNeil, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of HANetf, commented: “Income has become an increasingly important part of the European ETF market, and investors are looking for greater choice not only in how that income is generated, but also in how frequently it is received.
“Moving CHPY to weekly distributions gives investors the opportunity to receive potential income more regularly throughout the month. This may provide greater flexibility for investors using income-generating ETFs as part of their portfolio.
“CHPY is designed to combine two things investors are increasingly looking for: exposure to the semiconductor industry and an options strategy seeking to generate recurring income. Moving to weekly distributions is a natural evolution of that proposition.”

Risks
When you invest in ETFs your capital is fully at risk and may not get back the amount originally invested. Exchange rates can have a positive or negative effect on returns. The value of equities and equity-related securities can be affected by daily stock and currency market movements. While the Sub-Fund uses a covered call option strategy which is intended to provide income, there is no guarantee that the derivative strategy will achieve this. The Sub-Fund may forego some capital appreciation potential, while retaining the risk of loss should the price of the underlying securities decline. Selling call options will create exposure for the Sub-Fund, as it may have to deliver the underlying securities or their value and, should the market move unfavourably, this may result in an unlimited loss. The maximum loss for the seller of a call option is potentially unlimited if the option seller does not hold the underlying securities which underlies the options.
