A new infrastructure super-cycle
Space is becoming a critical infrastructure layer for the global economy, supporting communications, navigation, intelligence, climate monitoring and security. The convergence of artificial intelligence and SpaceTech is accelerating demand for connectivity, data and computing power, while falling launch costs are unlocking new commercial applications. Together, these forces are driving the emergence of a multi-trillion-dollar opportunity.
Pure-play new space exposure
Many existing space-themed ETFs are heavily weighted towards traditional aerospace, defence and industrial companies, diluting exposure to the growth of New Space. The Seraphim New Space UCITS ETF focuses on companies whose growth is directly linked to the commercialisation of space. The index uses a conviction-weighted approach designed to identify structural-growth winners rather than simply allocating capital according to market capitalisation.
Venture insight, public access, built by experts
Built by Seraphim, one of the world’s most experienced specialist SpaceTech investors, the ETF combines venture-grade insight with the accessibility of a public-market investment. Seraphim’s platform spans venture capital, public markets and accelerator programmes, providing unique visibility across the global SpaceTech ecosystem and helping identify the companies shaping the future space economy.
New Space
Many space investments are dominated by established aerospace, defence and industrial businesses. A more focused New Space strategy may target companies whose growth is directly linked to the expanding commercial space economy, including satellite communications, Earth observation, launch services, and space-based infrastructure.
Specialist insight into a fast-growing industry
SpaceTech is a highly specialised and rapidly evolving sector. Drawing on the expertise of experienced space investors can help identify promising companies across the ecosystem, from emerging innovators to established public businesses shaping the future of the global space economy.
Seraphim New Space UCITS ETF (SERA) provides investors with exposure to companies building the commercial infrastructure of the global space economy. The New Space ETF focuses on high-growth New Space businesses operating across communications, connectivity, Earth observation, launch, defence, intelligence and space-enabled technologies.
Space is transitioning from a government-led endeavour into a commercial industry that underpins communications, navigation, security, climate monitoring and global connectivity. As businesses, governments and consumers become increasingly reliant on space-based infrastructure and services, the sector is emerging as one of the most compelling long-term growth opportunities in the global economy.
The New Space ETF tracks the Seraphim New Space Index, a proprietary index developed by Seraphim through a decade of specialist SpaceTech investing. Unlike many existing space-themed funds, which are heavily weighted towards traditional aerospace and defence companies, the ETF focuses on businesses whose growth is directly linked to the commercialisation of space and the expansion of the New Space economy.
Key Risks
Companies in the space sector may be affected, among other things, by high research and development costs, technological failure, product delays, launch failures, satellite or infrastructure malfunctions, and reliance on specialist suppliers, launch providers or government contracts. The sector may also be sensitive to changes in defence, aerospace, communications and government spending, as well as regulatory changes, geopolitical tensions, spectrum allocation, export controls and operational disruptions. Companies involved in space-related activities may face risks linked to emerging technologies, rapid innovation, product obsolescence, intellectual property rights and competition from new market entrants. Thematic ETFs are exposed to a limited number of sectors and thus the investment will be concentrated and may experience high volatility. Investors’ capital is fully at risk and may not get back the amount originally invested. Exchange rates can have a positive or negative effect on returns. The value of equities and equity-related securities can be affected by daily stock and currency market movements. Please note this is not an exhaustive list of risks. Other risks may apply. Further risks are disclosed in the KIID and Prospectus.

The Seraphim New Space Index is designed to identify companies most exposed to the growth of the New Space economy while avoiding the dilution commonly found in broader aerospace and space-themed indices. Developed through a decade of specialist SpaceTech investing, the index combines Seraphim’s proprietary research, industry expertise and market insight to identify businesses best positioned to benefit from the commercialisation of space.
The index begins with a universe of publicly listed companies across the global SpaceTech ecosystem, with a focus on liquid US and European listed equities. Companies are assessed using Seraphim’s proprietary framework, which evaluates factors including:
The methodology is built around four core differentiators:
Companies must derive a substantial proportion of their revenues or strategic activity from New Space markets. Constituents are then assessed against key structural growth themes including:
Unlike traditional indices that allocate weight according to market capitalisation, the Seraphim New Space Index applies a conviction-based approach. Companies are assigned to tiers based on their overall assessment and weighted accordingly, providing greater exposure to businesses that Seraphim believes are best positioned to benefit from long-term structural growth. The methodology is designed to capture structural-growth winners rather than smooth them into a market-cap average.
The index is reviewed periodically to ensure it continues to reflect the evolving structure of the global space economy and can incorporate newly listed SpaceTech companies as they enter public markets.
